supreme court appointments

Here’s the historical context for the Supreme Court Appointment:
– Of the 29 times that a Supreme Court vacancy has happened in an election year, the President has ALWAYS made an appointment.
– If the majority party in the Senate is the President’s party, the justice is almost always approved (17 out of 19 instances).
– If the majority party is not the President’s party, the justice is almost always not approved (8 out of 10 instances).

Thanks for the history lesson,  @sentedcruz!
